According to Crow Wing Power, members have reported receiving phone calls claiming to represent Crow Wing Power and/or Minnesota Power.
The callers threatened immediate service disconnection/investigation if payment was not received.
Crow Wing Power members who have delinquent accounts receive multiple notifications before service disconnection, never just a single notification by phone, the company stated. For members who receive a call believed to be a scam, Crow Wing Power advised them to hang up and call Crow Wing Power directly at 800-648-9401 or 218-829-2827 with questions regarding accounts.
