An estimated 1,800 people attended Saturday's Crow Wing Power Member Appreciation Day and annual meeting, and a total of 5,003 ballots were cast in this year's board of directors election, according to a news release from the company.
⢠In District 1B, Doris Mezzenga was elected with 1,812 votes to fill a vacant seat made available by the retirement of longtime board member Kay Blais. Blais was on the board for 28 years. Robert Ringwelski received 1,264 votes, Phyllis Eck received 1,245 votes, and Terry Usherwood received 579 votes.
⢠Incumbent Gordon Martin ran unopposed in District 2A and received 4,463 votes.
⢠In District 2 At-Large, LuAnn Nelson was elected with 1,598 votes to fill a two-year term left vacant by the resignation of board member Lois Hansen. Bob Olson received 956 votes, Russ Nygren had 844 votes, Wendell King got 743 votes and Alan Swanson received 730 votes.
⢠In District 3 At-Large, Paul Koering was elected with 1,164 votes to fill a vacant seat made available by the retirement of longtime board member Don O'Brien. O'Brien was on the board for 24 years. Michael O'Brien received 1,125 votes, Bruce Rosine got 1,115 votes, Darrel Palmer had 992 votes and John Brutcher received 465 votes.
