Crow Wing Soil and Water Conservation District invited photographers of all ages and abilities to submit their photos for the 2019 Native Plant and Tree Photo Contest in October.
In a news release, SWCD announced the first-place winner is Jennifer Quam with her photo of a wild lupine flower with a tri-colored bumblebee. Quam will receive a 20-by-16-inch canvas of her photo.
Winner of second place is Rose Zak with her photo of a bloodroot flower, for which she will receive an 11-by-17-inch canvas. Zak also won third place with her photo of a pin cherry tree with a bee. She will receive an 8-by-10-inch canvas of that photo.

The SWCD is currently featuring 2018 photo contest winners in its 2019 Crow Wing County Plat Books. All the entries will be featured on the SWCD Facebook page, SWCD website and potentially other educational or promotional items for the Crow Wing SWCD.
Crow Wing SWCD thanked its volunteers who took time to rank all the photos: JoAnn Weaver, Jim Chamberlin, Heather Baird and Joyce Mikesh, who evaluated the 55 photos entered this year.
