The community is invited to Central Lakes College’s next Cultural Thursday event at noon March 5 in the Chalberg Theatre.

In conjunction with International Women’s Day events, CLC staff member Rosymar Hjermstad, originally from Venezuela, will give an update on the current happenings in her native country.

Since the Bolivian Revolution of 1999, there has been a great upheaval in the South American nation. By mid-2019, more than 4 million Venezuelans had left the country, most of them within the last five years.

Hjermstad is the project director of the Strengthening Institutions Program/Title III grant project director at CLC.

The event will be livestreamed by the CLC videography department on YouTube at https://youtu.be/NC0ZvTz2sT4 .
