Cuyuna Lakes Crusher offers shuttle service, parking

Overflow parking and a shuttle service is in place for the more than 500 mountain bikers their friends and families arriving for the third annual Cuyuna Lakes Crusher Race Aug. 19-20.

Overflow parking and a shuttle service is in place for the more than 500 mountain bikers their friends and families arriving for the third annual Cuyuna Lakes Crusher Race Aug. 19-20.

The event is sponsored by the Cuyuna Lakes Chamber and the Minnesota Mountain Bike Series.

The Minnesota Series Race takes place in the Mahnomen Unit of the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area Aug. 20. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Overflow parking will be available on the large lot at the corner of Irene Avenue and Hematite Street in Ironton, next to Morningside Park. There will be a shuttle available from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to transport attendees to the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area.

Volunteers are still needed for many different positions to help make the event a success. Those who can assist may send an email message tojessica@cuyunalakes.com or call 218-546-8131 with availability.

From 5-9 p.m., Aug. 19, racers and the public are invited to celebrate at the Cuyuna Lakes Crusher Happy Hour, on Cross Avenue in front of the Spalding House. There will be live music by Avery & Duncan Trio, and food provided by Maucieri's Bistro on Wheels throughout the evening.
