LITTLE FALLS-Crow Wing County 4-H will host a "Party with a Purpose" event 6-8 p.m. July 17 at Sprout in Little Falls.
The party will raise funds for the youth development programs of 4-H, which deliver quality, research-based content that nurtures positive partnerships between youths and caring adults in safe learning environments, a news release stated.
The "Party with a Purpose" invites the public to a social gathering while supporting and learning more about 4-H programs. The gathering will highlight Native American culture through the appetizers served as well as live performances by 4-H youths from the White Earth Nation. The recipes the families will prepare were selected from the award-winning cookbook "The Sioux Chef's Indigenous Kitchen" by Sean Sherman and Beth Dooley and will showcase Minnesota wild and indigenous foods including wild rice, smoked fish, squash and maple sugar, among other ingredients.
The Crow Wing County 4-H event is sponsored by Sprout, ArtPlace America and the Region Five Development Commission.
Sarah Ukkelberg, the Crow Wing County 4-H Program coordinator, stated in the release she hopes the event will showcase the importance of 4-H in communities.

"4-H helps youth by teaching them life skills so they are able to grow to be better leaders in their communities and shapes them into becoming caring adults," Ukkelberg stated. "4-H is the largest youth organization in the world and boasts a motto, 'To Make The Best Better.'"
Tickets are $10 for individuals or $30 for a family and include appetizers, wine, beverages and entertainment. All proceeds from the event benefit the Crow Wing County 4-H.
