Dancing with the Lakes Area Stars, a fundraiser sponsored by the Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity, will return on June 17 at The Brainerd Exchange at the historic Northern Pacific Center.

Nine area couples will present a show to raise funds to change a family’s life.

A social hour with hors d’oeuvres will run 5:30-6:30 p.m. and performances begin at 6:45 p.m. Due to potential COVID-19 restrictions, the location will allow for the event to be indoors or outdoors, depending on the requirements in June.

There will be a special prize drawing for social hour ticket holders only, valued at more than $100.

“We are so excited to be able to put on a fun event like this,” stated Development Director Ruth Ann Veith in a news release. “We offer something unique in the area and involve community members who may not otherwise be part of nonprofit fundraisers. It takes a community to help build a home and change a family’s life. We want to make sure that everyone in the community has an opportunity to be part of that.”

The lakes area stars will be Pat and Holly Holm, Brad and Lori Kohorst, Eric and Rena Bolt, Chris and Amber Close, Pastor Steve and Liz Benson, John and Karolyn Brenny, Brandon and Jill Anderson, Chip LeBlanc and Brenda Nelson, and Chelsey Perkins and Nate Himley. Also making a special appearance are last year’s champions, Chad and Amy Price.

The event will also feature dances by Spirit Movement Dance Studio, Oscar and Michelle Gonzalez and Vespertine Tribal.

Sponsors needed

A sponsorship opportunity is now available for those who want to partner with Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity on this event. The event was sold out last year.

Sponsorships start at $300, include tickets to the event, and are customizable. The title sponsorship is still available. Anyone interested in being the “Dream Builder” will receive top billing, get to create a company signature drink to be served at the event, a company logo on all the tickets, and information about the company at every table. These opportunities are only available to the Dream Builder sponsor. For more details about a sponsorship and what it means to the community, contact Veith at 218-454-7019.

Tickets available

Early bird pricing this year is $65 per person until May 16. After that, tickets will be $75. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 218-828-8517 or emailing . For more information, visit .
