EAST GULL LAKE-Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies responded to a report of a physical domestic assault case Thursday after learning the suspect might have a knife.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office reported it received a 911 call about 3 p.m. Thursday of a woman who stated she was assaulted on the 4100 block of Gull Lake Dam Road. The suspect, a 35-year-old man, was not at the residence when officers arrived.

The sheriff's office called for assistance from the Brainerd Police Department for use of its K-9 officer and officers from the Nisswa Police Department responded as well. Police were unable to locate the suspect Thursday, however.

Friday morning, officers returned to the residence and found the suspect, who was arrested without incident. The man is currently being held in Crow Wing County Jail on two possible felony assault offenses, and is expected to make his first court appearance to hear formal charges on Monday.
