DETROIT LAKES - A Detroit Lakes motel was evacuated Sunday night after a man said he had a gun and threatened to shoot officers.
The Becker County Sheriff's Office was trying to pick up Douglas Alan Young, 49, of Dent, about 7:30 p.m. at the 59er Motel at 19389 Frontage Road on a harassment restraining order violation out of Otter Tail County.
Young threatened officers through the window, saying he had a gun and would shoot himself or anyone who came in, police said.
Several agencies were called in and officers were able to talk Young down before SWAT arrived.
No weapon was found, police said.
