Dirt bike collision results in fatality

A 24-year Minneapolis man was killed Friday, July 27, when the 2001 Honda CR260 dirt bike he was operating crashed on the Bull Moose Trail in the Foot Hills State Forest in rural Pine River.

A 24-year Minneapolis man was killed Friday, July 27, when the 2001 Honda CR260 dirt bike he was operating crashed on the Bull Moose Trail in the Foot Hills State Forest in rural Pine River.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to the fatality at 6:19 p.m. that involved two dirt bikes. Upon arrival, deputies and responders learned that the victim, Jackson Snidarich, was travelling north on his dirt bike when he rounded a corner and started to slide making contact with an oncoming 2000 Honda CR125 dirt bike, operated by Beau Pearcy, 32, Rice.

Lifesaving efforts were performed on Snidarich and he was later pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, the sheriff's office reported. Pearcy did not report any injuries. Both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

Assisting on scene was the Pine River Police Department, Minnesota DNR Conservation, Pine River Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance and AirCare.

The crash remains under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff's Office and an autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
