Brainerd Dispatch media consultant Linda Hurst earned three awards, including a first-place finish, the 2018-19 Better Newspaper Contest for her work in advertising.
The awards recognize advertisements among all Minnesota dailies entered in the contest, run by the Minnesota Newspaper Association. Hurst finished first in the advertising campaign category for Schroeder's Appliance advertising. She also earned second place in that category for a campaign for Color Street Nails. Her third-place recognition came in the use of color in advertising for an advertisement for E.L. Menk Jewelers.
Describing Hurst's first-place Schroeder's Appliance advertising campaign, a judge wrote: "Great ads!"
