ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- The dog shot multiple times with a pellet gun and left for dead last winter in rural Stearns County has died
The Tri-County Humane Society in St. Cloud said that Remy died Monday afternoon at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center after suffering a series of unexplained seizures.
The yellow Labrador retriever was first stricken lasst Thursday. Remy - short for Remington - was sedated at the emergency veterinary clinic in St. Cloud. That stopped the seizures, but once the sedation wore off, they resumed. He was seen by three other local veterinarians before being taken to the U clinic on the St. Paul campus.
A necropsy was planned to determine the cause of death.
Remy was found in February near Avon after being shot with a pellet gun at close range. He was hit four times in the face, breaking his jaw, and twice in the hindquarters. The perpetrators have not been found.
