NISSWA — An 18-year-old Jenkins man was arrested and a pedestrian hospitalized following an Aug. 6 crash in the parking lot at Spirits of Nisswa on Smiley Road.
The Nisswa Police Department responded at 3:55 p.m. to an incident where a vehicle struck 67-year-old Janet E. Frederickson of New Ulm. The 18-year-old driver stated to police he backed up to leave the location and backed into the woman. Fredrickson was transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd and then transferred to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale for non-life-threatening injuries.
The man was arrested for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance and no proof of insurance.
