Driver overcorrects vehicle, crashes

BALL BLUFF — A Duluth man was treated at the scene Friday, July 17, after crashing a Volkswagen Jetta pulling a trailer in Aitkin County.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported Michael G. Hanson, 63, was traveling west on Highway 200, east of Highway 65, northeast of Aitkin near Ball Bluff. Hanson overcorrected, causing the Jetta and trailer to fishtail. The trailer rolled over, disconnected and landed in the westbound ditch, while the Jetta also rolled and landed on its roof in the eastbound lane, the state patrol reported.

The state patrol reported Hanson was wearing his seat belt and had non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated at the scene for cuts and bruises.

The crash was reported at 5:21 p.m.
