A driver and a passenger were injured Tuesday, July 7, after swerving on Highway 18 to avoid a hay bale tractor in Nokay Lake Township, just east of Paul Bunyan Land.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported a Toyota Highlander was traveling west on Highway 18 at Burgwald Road when the vehicle went off the road and landed in the ditch. The driver, Terence M. Knopik, 77, and his passenger, Colette R. Knopik, 76, both of Deerwood, were transported to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby for minor injuries.
The crash was reported at 2:31 p.m.
