STAPLES — A 39-year-old Morton woman was arrested after fleeing from authorities Monday Aug. 31, in Wadena County.
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office reported a deputy was conducting a traffic stop at 2:04 p.m. near the Staples Airport for a registration violation, when the driver fled. The driver fled north on Airport Road, and then turned and proceeded north on Wadena County Highway 30. The deputy pursued the vehicle for five miles before she pulled over and was taken into custody without incident.
The woman is being held in the Wadena County jail awaiting formal criminal charges with the Wadena County Attorney’s Office.
The Staples Police Department assisted the county with the incident.
