Drop-off sites listed for Toys For Kids

Hundreds of families have applied for gifts for boys and girls through age 15 through the 34th annual Southern Crow Wing County Toys For Kids Program.

Hundreds of families have applied for gifts for boys and girls through age 15 through the 34th annual Southern Crow Wing County Toys For Kids Program.

Anyone wanting to volunteer to bag toys should go to the Brainerd National Guard Armory from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., this week through Dec. 16, except for weekends. Volunteer baggers are needed as well from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 17.

Toy and monetary gifts are still needed and are being taken through Dec. 17, the day of distribution. Look for one of the many drop boxes for toys or coins in the southern Crow Wing County area. Monetary gifts can also be mailed any time to Toys For Kids, P.O. Box No. 2811, Brainerd, MN, 56401. All monetary gifts are spent locally for gifts for the program.

Heartland Detachment, Toys For Kids is a nonprofit organization. Donations may be tax deductible.

Northeast Brainerd locations are Northeast Liquor, SuperAmerica, Kentucky Fried Chicken, SuperAmerica in Merrifield, Valerie Ann's Diner and Pizza, Holiday Station, Triangle Oil and Caribou Coffee.

South Brainerd locations: SuperAmerica, Bobbie's Kitchen, Brainerd Savings & Loan, American Legion, Ace Hardware, Wayne's Barber.

West Brainerd locations: Mid Minnesota, Red Rock Radio, Burger King, Holsum Bakery, Country Kitchen, Papa Murphy's, Deerwood Bank-Baxter and stores in the mall include Dairy Queen, Joann Fabrics, Jenny's Hallmark, Rafferty's Pizza and Pizza Hut, Walgreens, Wendy's and Save Liquor.
