MOORHEAD - A driver's drunken attempt to do a "doughnut" at a Felton bonfire ended up with two people being struck by the vehicle, according to documents filed in Clay County District Court.
The incident occurred Friday, June 17, when a vehicle entered the yard of a Felton, Minn., residence with its horn honking and the driver attempting to do a "doughnut" near where a group of people were milling about a bonfire, according to witness accounts in court records.
The vehicle nearly struck an 8-year-old child before it came to a stop and the female driver and a male passenger got out.
Hostilities erupted between the mother of the child and the driver of the vehicle, identified in court papers as Shannon L. Klevgaard, 22, of Dilworth, Minn., after Klevgaard apologized for what happened but said she was “extremely wasted.”
When the man who was with Klevgaard tried to break up the altercation between the two women, he began to fight with other men.
