DULUTH - A Duluth woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in the city on Tuesday evening, and authorities said the driver of the vehicle is in custody after allegedly fleeing the scene.
The Duluth Police Department reported Wednesday that Susan Legarde-Menz, 60, was struck by the vehicle while walking in the area of Skyline Parkway at Twin Ponds in Duluth at about 6 p.m. Tuesday. She was transported to Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center, where she died from her injuries, police said.
The vehicle ended up in Twin Ponds, and police said the driver - a 30-year-old man - fled the scene. He was later arrested and taken to the St. Louis County Jail, and faces charges of criminal vehicular homicide and driving after revocation.
The man has not yet been charged, police said.
