Have a child going to kindergarten in the fall of 2016 or 2017? Children must be age 5 by Sept. 1 of each year.

Minnesota law requires children to have an early childhood screening prior to entering kindergarten. This is a free appointment, which includes checking a child's immunizations, growth, hearing and vision as well as skills in thinking, communication and language, large and small muscles and social/emotional development.

Kindergarten registration is also done at this time. This appointment is designed to help parents, children and the district to prepare children when they enter kindergarten.

Appointments are available through the end of May. There are no other screenings prior to September when kindergarten begins for 2016. Extended evening hours are available to accommodate working parents as well.

Call the Early Childhood Center at 218-454-5430 to schedule an appointment.
