Energy efficiency and ag tour set

STAPLES — An energy efficiency and agriculture tour is planned from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, at the Ag and Energy Center at Central Lakes College in Staples.

The Sustainable Farming Association-Central Chapter and Minnesota Farmers Union is hosting this no-cost event as a way to network with a range of individuals with knowledge and experience in clean energy technology and finance. A tour of the campus solar array, indoor food pod, and legacy garden will be available. There also will be an opportunity to talk with a farmer living with solar energy at his farm, solar energy experts, energy bill readings and a free lunch.

The opportunity is open to anyone in the region, and RSVPs are encouraged by going online at bit.ly/3gU8szz . The Ag and Energy Center’s address is 26505 County Highway 2 in Staples.

This event was organized in collaboration with University of Minnesota Extension’s Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships, Clean Energy Resource Teams, Region Five Development Commission and Central Lakes College.
