Excelsior Road from Highway 371 to west of Edgewood Drive, including the Edgewood Drive intersection will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, July 16 for construction of the CenterPoint Energy gas line and new curb and gutter in conjunction with the 2018 Excelsior Road and Edgewood Drive Improvement Project.
This section of roadway will be closed for approximately two weeks and is planned to be back open by 5 p.m. July 27.
Access to local businesses will be maintained during the closure. The primary access to the area will be through the Highway 371 and Design Drive intersection. Traffic destined to or from Excelsior Road to the west will need to use the detour route on Highway 210 to Inglewood Drive. Traffic exiting the area to the north will need to use Edgewood Drive to Woida Road.
A signed detour route for through traffic will be provided using Highway 371, Design Drive, Edgewood Drive, Woida Road, Highway 210 and Inglewood Drive. Motorists are asked to drive with caution in the work zone area or plan an alternative route and avoid the construction area if possible.
