LITTLE FALLS-National Night Out and Falls Festival on Foot are partnering to open the streets from 5-7:30 p.m. Aug. 1.
First Street Southeast between Second and Fifth avenues in Little Falls will be closed to motor traffic to allow people to experience the activities offered by two annual events.
There will be a free community meal served by the Salvation Army, free Surrey bicycles sponsored by Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union available to ride up and down the streets, a bike rodeo a child's play area and hula hoop contests for kids.
There will be live music provided by local band Disaster Area. The event will also feature demonstrations by the following: a North Memorial Air Care helicopter, Morrison County K-9 unit, Little Falls Fire and Rescue "grease fire" kitchen safety demonstration, specialty cardio and Zumba by Curves of Little Falls, Red Door Yoga+ and Touright Bicycle Shop BMX and strider races.
Another activity is The Critter Crawl, hosted by the Morrison County Humane Society and Live Better Live Longer, a short walking loop for dogs (and other friendly pets) and their owners. The crawl starts at 6 p.m. at the Maple Island Park shelter.
