AITKIN - The 2015 Aitkin Farmers' Market will once again be from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., May 23, in the parking lot of the historic Butler Building, 301 Minnesota Ave. N.
Due to the ongoing success of the event, the farmers' market is putting out the call early to any local farmers who are interested in joining in this year in helping to bring fresh produce and wholesome goods to the local community of Aitkin and surrounding areas.
In recent years, the farmers' market has featured a number of offerings, including everything from eggs, syrup, baked goods and organic produce to handmade soaps, jellies and jams, dog treats, flowers and herbs, yarn and wool products, and homemade salsas, among many other unique items.
Those who would like to participate in this year's weekly event and sell their own special goods, may apply by visiting The Butler Building's official website at www.thebutlerbuilding.org and download the application. Or call Lynne Jacobs, building manager, at 218-820-8790; or Sylvia Allen, building owner, at 218-678-2441, to have an application sent directly. The deadline to apply is April 20.
The Aitkin Farmers' Market is every Saturday through October or until it snows.
