Foxfire Festivals, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit division of The Farm on St. Mathias, announces the second concert in Field of Dreams - Roots Music Concert Series for 2017 - www.thefarmonstmathias.com/2017events .
On Saturday, Foxfire Festivals and Shrinkrap Productions present the second concert of the season at The Farm on St. Mathias, featuring The Chemistry Set with local favorite, Old Fat and Grey.
Chemistry Set has been a mainstay in Minneapolis and surrounding regions for more than a decade, playing their brand of roots-inspired music in venues ranging from small neighborhood dive bars to outdoor stages that draw hundreds.
The band's vision comes from singer-songwriter-guitarist Chris Thompson, who has a knack for evocative story line and catchy musical hooks. He and drummer Steve Smith have played together in various bands since the 1980s, and their vocal harmonies are a hallmark of the band. Jackie Crosby brought a blues and country-swing sensibility to Chemistry Set when she joined in 2010.
"Grit" the band's third record, was released in 2015. Chemistry Set is currently at work on a new studio album and a live recording, both scheduled for release in 2017.
