ST. PAUL - Rep. Matt Dean, R-Dellwood, has launched a statewide campaign to convince Gov. Mark Dayton and other Democrats to scrap the MNsure online health insurance sales site.
Dean, chairman of the House committee with MNsure oversight, has been a MNsure opponent since its inception.
MNsure is Minnesota's effort to comply with federal health laws generally known as Obamacare. It gives Minnesotans a method of buying private health insurance online as well as serving those using government-subsidized insurance.
While some states set up MNsure-like services, many others use a federal government website.
"Middle class Minnesota is getting gouged to pay astronomical insurance rates to grow public entitlement programs," Dean said. "They pay more to get less health care."
