Fight between neighbors leads to arrest for assault with lead pipe

DEERWOOD — A 61-year-old Deerwood man was arrested following an assault reported at 11:24 p.m. Friday, July 3, on the 23000 block of Serpent Road, Deerwood.

The Deerwood Police Department reported two men, who were neighbors, got into a fight. The 61-year-old allegedly hit a 53-year-old man in the head with a metal pipe. The victim had minor injuries and refused medical treatment on scene.

Deerwood police are preparing paperwork for possible criminal charges against the 61-year-old.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, Crosby Police Department and Cuyuna Regional Medical Center ambulance assisted on scene.
