Fire alarms and grass fires send out fire trucks

The Brainerd Fire Department reports its calls from the past week.

The Brainerd Fire Department responded to two calls Sunday, April 11.

Firefighters were paged at 9:12 a.m. to a fire alarm on the 11000 block of Easy Street, but were canceled en route. At 5:34 p.m., a small grass fire was reported in the area of Highland Scenic Road and Cora Street. Firefighters extinguished the fire.

Calls last week include:

  • April 6: Called at 3:36 p.m. to a grass fire in the woods on the 16000 block of North Nelson Road for a grass fire in the woods. Fire crews extinguished a 100-foot by 100-foot fire. The DNR assisted on the scene.

Called at 6:35 p.m. to a small grass fire on the 15000 block of Pine Shores Road. The DNR assisted on the scene.
Called at 9:08 p.m. to a fire alarm at Knife River, 7925 Industrial Park Road, which was determined to be a false alarm.

  • April 7: Called at 2:21 a.m. to the 1400 block of South 10th Street for a report of an electrical sparking in a residence. Firefighters investigated and determined to be unfounded.

  • April 8: Called at 1:40 p.m. to a smoke smell at Sherwin Williams, 14451 Edgewood Drive, Baxter, which was determined to be unfounded.
