IRONTON-Firefighters are currently battling a fire at an engine repair business in Ironton.
Emergency dispatchers alerted Ironton and Crosby firefighters at about 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, of the fire burning at Bud's Small Engine Repair, 20233 Hematite St., Ironton. Mutual aid was called for at about 5 p.m. from the Deerwood Fire Department
Thick smoke was visible from the highway, and people surrounded the site and watched crews work to extinguish the flames in the midst of plummeting temperatures. Shortly before 5 p.m., the temperature was 5 degrees at the Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport, with a windchill of 12 below zero.
