FORT RIPLEY — Fire destroyed a Fort Ripley Township home during the early morning hour Tuesday, March 30.
The Little Falls Fire Department was called at 12:33 a.m. Tuesday to the 6100 block of Lennox Lane in Fort Ripley Township to a report of a building on fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found a house fully involved in fire. Due to the strong winds and dry conditions at the time of the fire, blowing embers were causing spot fires in the nearby woods as well, the fire department reported in a news release. Firefighters were able to protect nearby structures and extinguish the fire. There were no injuries to the resident, who called 911 to report the fire, or the firefighters.

The fire department was assisted at the scene by Brainerd Fire Department, Camp Ripley Fire Department, Minnesota DNR, North Memorial Health Ambulance and the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office. The fire is not considered suspicious.
Firefighters cleared from the scene at 3:56 a.m. Tuesday.
