PILLAGER-A small farm house was destroyed by fire Monday, June 3, on the 9100 block of 25th Avenue Southwest, northeast of Pillager.
Pillager Fire and Rescue responded to the fire, which was reported at 7:50 a.m. Upon arrival, the small home was fully engulfed, Pillager Fire Chief Greg Ringler said. Ringler said the home was owned by Howard Smith and Smith's brother was living in the home at the time of the fire. The brother reported seeing the living room filling with smoke, so he got out and called 911.
Ringler said the cause of the fire is undetermined, but it possibly could have been an electrical issue. Ringler said the home was destroyed and the brother was going to stay with some relatives.
