Fire engulfs pole building

An early morning fire engulfed a pole building Sunday in Fort Ripley.

The Brainerd Fire Department responded to the fire at 5:26 a.m. on the 4400 block of 20th Street.

According to Crow Wing County property records, the owners are Jonathan and Kathleen Adams.

Brainerd Interim Fire Chief Chip Lohmiller reported the building was 40 feet by 60 feet. Firefighters extinguished the fire.

Brainerd responded with two engines, two tenders and 13 firefighters. Mutual aid was provided by Little Falls Fire Department with two tenders and five firefighters.

The fire is under investigation by the state fire marshal's office. The building was being used for storage.

Firefighters cleared the scene at 8:10 a.m.
