Fire engulfs stalled truck

SEBEKA — Authorities responded to a vehicle fire at 10:36 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, in Nimrod.

The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a 2001 Dodge Ram truck was engulfed in flames at the intersection of Nimrod Avenue and Acorn Street in Nimrod. No one was inside the truck during the time of the fire.

The fire was in the engine area and quickly spread to the cab. The driver, identified as Duane Pearson, 65, of Sebeka, stated the vehicle stalled at the intersection. He got out to pop the hood and that’s when the fire started.

No one was hurt in the fire and the vehicle is a complete loss.

The sheriff’s office was assisted on scene by the Sebeka police and fire departments and Wadena County Highway Department.
