Fire totals passenger car

The driver stated when driving the car it started to have problems and smoke and then it lit on fire.

SEBEKA — A 2001 Chevrolet Impala was engulfed in flames Sunday, May 30, just north of Sebeka.

The fire was reported at 8 p.m. in the area of 294th Street and 135th Avenue, just north of Sebeka. The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office and the Sebeka Fire Department responded to the fire. Deputies spoke with the driver, who stated the car was supposed to be dropped off at the scrap yard. The driver stated when driving the car, it started to have problems and smoke. The car then started on fire.

The driver escaped the vehicle unharmed, the sheriff’s office reported. The vehicle was a complete loss, as well as the personal property inside.

The Sebeka Police Department, Tri-County Ambulance and K&K Towing assisted on scene.
