FERGUS FALLS – A Dalton, Minn., firefighter accused of stealing money from victims in a June crash that killed two teenage brothers from Moorhead, Minn., changed her plea to guilty days before a trial was set to begin.
Tara Lindquist, 43, will serve 10 days in jail and one year of probation on the misdemeanor theft charges.
Lindquist was accused of stealing more than $100 from the Kvalvog brothers' wallets at the crash site.
She was also ordered to pay $86 in restitution.
Lindquist admitted to investigators that she took $120 from a wallet she found lying in the road when she arrived first at the scene of the June 23 crash that killed Zach Kvalvog, 18, and his 14-year-old brother, Connor. Both attended Park Christian School in Moorhead.

Two other boys who were with the brothers in the truck on their way to basketball camp were also injured in the crash.
The Kvalvogs' father, Ray Kvalvog, said each boy was given $100 in cash for the trip, but their wallets were empty when they were returned to their parents.
