A mobile home was destroyed by fire Tuesday, March 30, in Lyons Township in Wadena County.
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office was called at 2:25 a.m. to a mobile home on fire. When deputies arrived on scene, they found several live power lines across the roadway. It appeared the high winds blew a tree over and damaged the power lines, knocking them down.
The mobile home was engulfed in flames, along with 3 acres of grass and woodland that was burning, along with other pieces of old machinery and equipment, the sheriff’s office reported.
The Sebeka and Verndale fire departments and the Minnesota DNR Forestry Fire battled the fire in 23 mph winds.
The mobile home along with several other pieces of machinery and equipment were damaged in the fire.
