Firefighters respond to 3 calls during long weekend

Firefighters responded to three calls since Friday through noon Tuesday.

The Brainerd Fire Department is at the intersection of East River Road and Laurel Street in Brainerd.

The Brainerd Fire Department responded to three calls throughout the long holiday weekend.

Firefighters responded to two calls Friday, Jan. 15, with the first fire alarm at 2:50 p.m. on the 13000 block of Travine Drive, but were canceled en route. The second call was a fire alarm at 11:49 p.m. at Essentia Sports Center, 502 Jackson St. Upon investigation, it was determined to be a maintenance matter.

The third call was at 6:43 p.m. Sunday of a rubbish fire on the 90 block Karie Lane, which was extinguished.
