BAXTER - A faulty fuel oil system is believed to be responsible as carbon monoxide and smoke set off alarms in a Baxter home Friday night.

The Brainerd Fire Department responded to the home about 9 p.m. on the 1400 block of Burr Oak Drive and ventilated the house. A caretaker moved pets outside and the homeowner planned to heat with wood until the fuel system was repaired.

No injuries were reported.
