Firefighters respond to fire near Brainerd Industrial Center

Multiple fire departments are responding to a fire at the Brainerd Industrial Center on Mill Avenue in northeast Brainerd.

The BIC is the former Potlatch/Wausau paper mill.

Smoke was reported from a building at the site about 8 p.m. It did not appear to be the main BIC building.

According to scanner traffic, the Brainerd Fire Department called for additional aid from the Ideal, Deerwood and Nisswa fire departments.

Bystanders gathered on M Street to watch.
