    Firefighters respond

    The Brainerd Fire Department responded to two calls Thursday, Aug. 16, beginning at 1:40 p.m. for a garbage bin on fire on the 500 block of Northwest Fifth Street.

    Upon arrival, the fire was out.

    At 11:54 p.m., there was a call for a carbon monoxide alarm on the 8000 block of Greenwood Road. Upon investigation, it was determined to be a false alarm.
