The Brainerd Fire Department responded to several calls over the past few days, with the latest call at 2:56 p.m. Sunday, May 12, for a grass fire off the Paul Bunyan State Trail, south of the Crow Wing County line.

The fire was extinguished with the help of the DNR.

Firefighters responded to two grass fires Saturday, May 11. The first was at 12:08 p.m. on the 15000 block of Crow WIng County Highway 25 and the second was at 1:59 p.m. on the 3700 block of Cedar Scenic Road.

Firefighters also responded to three calls Thursday, with the first call at 10:34 a.m. at Cypress Apartments, 13060 Cypress Drive, for a fire alarm. Upon investigation, it was determined to be a maintenance matter. At 11:10 a.m., firefighters responded to a shed fire on the 5200 block of County Highway 2. The third call was at 7:09 p.m. for an oven fire on the 700 block of Todd Street. Upon investigation, it was determined to be burned food.
