Brainerd firefighters respond to calls
The Brainerd Fire Department responded to three calls Sunday, June 2, beginning at
12:25 a.m. for a structure fire on the 700 block of Southwest Sixth Street.
Upon arrival, smoke had filled an apartment due to burned food. Firefighters ventilated and assisted at the scene. At 4:48 a.m. firefighters were called to a boat fire on the 900 block of Southeast 11th Street. Firefighters put the fire out. At 7:05 p.m. firefighters were called to the North Star Apartments, 410 East River Road, for a report of a gas leak. Upon investigation, it was determined to be unfounded.
The fire department was also called to assist the Brainerd Police Department at 9:13 a.m. Monday for a personal injury crash at the intersection of Willow and South Sixth streets.
