Five fire departments respond to auto salvage business fire

Auto salvage employees were working on a vehicle when its fuel caught fire, setting the vehicle and then the building they were in on fire Friday at Highway 27 Auto Salvage near Long Prairie, the Todd County Sheriff's office reported.

Five fire departments responded to the blaze on Highway 71 south of Long Prairie.

One of the auto salvage employees suffered second-degree burns to his arm and was transported to the Long Prairie Hospital, the Todd County Sheriff's office reported. The fire was reported at 10:50 a.m. Friday.

Fire departments from Long Prairie, Browerville, Clarissa, Osakis and Sauk Centre responded. The sheriff's office was assisted with traffic control by the Long Prairie Police Department and Minnesota State Patrol.
