At 1 p.m. June 6 the American Legion will conduct a flag retirement ceremony in the Hackensack City Park where American flags as well as any POW-MIA flags can be retired properly.

The ceremony will be conducted by the Legion, Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion. The Legion Riders will also be in attendance.

Following the ceremony, a veteran recognition party will be held at the Hackensack American Legion to honor all veterans of military service and long time Post 202 members. The party will run from 3-6 p.m. At 4 p.m. all veterans in attendance will be recognized by branch of service: Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard.

All area veterans and their families are invited to attend. A meal will be served and all veterans will be eligible for prize drawings. Veterans may wear any part of their uniform they wish.
