A van was stranded Friday, Aug. 3, on Charles Street between Northwest Fifth and Sixth streets in Brainerd after heavy rainfall caused the street to flood.
Rain came down hard and fast as storms moved through during the early afternoon Friday. This street is known to flood when there is heavy rain. Pea-sized hail also fell in Brainerd and heavy rain temporarily flooded streets as drains could not keep up with the deluge.
The Brainerd Street Department arrived on scene to drain the water runoff on Charles Street. Brainerd police monitored traffic as Peterson Towing hooked up to tow the van.
