There are two ways to help. One option is to make an online donation at donate.salvationarmyusa.org/northern/recipeshare. Donations can also be made in person at the nearest Salvation Army location. Thanks to the Army's access to discounted products and programs, one dollar goes more than twice as far than if items are purchased at the store. Cash also gives more flexibility to purchase perishable items like fresh produce, meat and dairy products.

The second option is to organize a food or product drive and donate the items to your nearest Salvation Army.

Here are a few suggestions:

• All types of food.
