Former foreign service officer to speak on China and foreign policy

CROSBY -- Tom Hanson, a former foreign service officer with the U.S. Department of State, will discuss China and foreign policy in the Trump era during an Unlimited Learning event 1:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Heartland Senior Living in Crosby.

Hanson will talk global economics, technology and governance and how current policies affect prospects for democracy worldwide, a news release stated.

Hanson currently serves as a diplomat in residence at the Alworth Institute at the University of Minnesota Duluth and has opened many embassies, served as director of NATO and European Affairs and the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C.

The cost to attend the event, if not a member of Unlimited Learning, is $5.
