A former employee at the Good Ole’ Days Resort in Nisswa is accused of using the resort’s credit card for her own personal use.
Tonya Marie Schwegel, 43, of Merrifield made her first appearance Oct. 28, 2019, in Crow Wing County District Court in Brainerd where she faces three felony fraud courts of using a financial transaction card without consent.
According to the probable cause document filed against Schwegel, the Nisswa Police Department received a report Feb. 4, 2019, of credit card fraud by a former employee of Good Ole' Days Resort. Schwegel was terminated by the resort’s owners Jan. 10, 2019. The fraudulent purchases were made from Jan. 9-Jan. 28, 2019, and most of the purchases were made at businesses in Crow Wing County. The total amount of the fraudulent purchases was $1,269.42.
The card was kept at the resort for use for business-related purchases and Schwegel had access to the card.
A summons was mailed to Schwegel last August to appear in court in September, but she failed to appear and a warrant was issued, according to court records. The October date was set and the judge granted her an order to be released from jail.
