WILLMAR - A former Willmar Senior High School teacher pleaded guilty Thursday to having a sexual relationship with a female student from 2010 to 2012.
Chad Jeffrey Akerson, 35, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct in Kandiyohi County District Court.
In a plea agreement, charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and second-degree criminal sexual conduct will be dismissed.
Under questioning from Assistant Kandiyohi County Attorney Aaron Welch, Akerson also agreed that he was guilty of a number of actions that could be considered aggravating factors. He admitted that he had sex with the girl at the high school and at her home, both places she was entitled to feel safe.
Judge Michael Thompson will consider the aggravating factors in determining a sentence.

Akerson's sentencing date is Nov. 30.
