U.S. Sen. Al Franken's staff will meet with rural education leaders Thursday at 11 a.m. at the National Joint Powers Alliance, 202 12th St. NE, Staples, a release said.
Franken, a member of the Senate Education Committee, said rural educators face challenges their counterparts in suburban and urban communities often may not, such as teacher shortages, transportation challenges, and lack of access to quality broadband Internet services.
His staff will also give an update about new reforms to be implemented across the country in the coming school years, the release said.
